Fundamentals of Laser Therapy and Pain Management (1 Day) 

Join us for this interactive one-day course for laser therapy novices and experienced users. Our objective is to advance your knowledge of laser therapy to maximize your results both clinically and financially. This interactive day will cover the science behind laser therapy, clinical applications, multi-modal management of pain and osteoarthritis, treatment techniques, complementary tools, and business and implementation considerations.

Diagnostic Imaging Fundamentals and Interpretation (1.5 days) 

Join us for an interactive day of Radiology Interpretation. This will comprise of multimodality case-based discussion sessions interspersed with didactic lectures. The morning of the second day will be an ultrasound scan lab on live animals with a focus on vascular anatomy and small parts.

Dental Radiology and Positioning (1 Day)

Basic Abdominal Ultrasound (2 Days)

This 2 Day course will offer an introduction to ultrasound theory, and equipment and the practicalities of this invaluable modality in your practice. Includes afternoon scan labs.

Intermediate Ultrasound – Pearls series (2 Days)

There are four 2 day courses in this series: Pearls of G.I.T., Pearls of Genitourinary, Pearls of Liver/Spleen, and Pearls of Pancreas/Adrenals. These courses will explore common and uncommon pathologies of each system, further recognition of anatomy and landmarks, and optimizing images. Includes 2 afternoon scan labs.

VPOCUS (F.A.S.T. Ultrasound) (1 Day)

FAST Ultrasound is becoming popular as an easy to learn and effective diagnostic procedure that can help you rapidly make clinical decisions that benefit your patient often with less stress for the animal. FAST stems from a standard of care in the human emergency room and is being used by the veterinary general practitioner in addition to emergency DVM’s for post-surgery assessment of complications in addition to emergency trauma and triage situations.

Abdominal Ultrasound Fundamentals (2 Days) 

This course will review the Big Five: the bladder, kidneys, spleen and liver. Being an intermediate course we will also cover the pancreas, adrenals, small intestine, colon, lymphatics and abdominal vasculature. There are two scan labs where learning will be practiced on live animals.

Basic-Intermediate Echocardiography (2 Days)

This 2 day course will offer an introduction to echocardiography, identifying structure and assessment in 2D imaging planes, M-mode imaging and assessment, a discussion of the echocardiographic features of common acquired disease and case studies. 2 scan labs included

Intermediate Echocardiography (2.5 Days)

This course will further your education of echocardiography introducing the principles of Doppler including normal spectral and colour flow Doppler. The Lecture will include Doppler features of acquired heart disease. There will be a scan lab both days to put the lecture learning into practice.

Scan Only Ultrasound (.5 Day)

Scan Only afternoon sessions will emphasize hands-on practice in a lab setting with some opportunity for class discussion. Instructors will teach to the skill level and particular needs of the individual. This is an opportunity to join the afternoon scan lab at one of our in person courses.

Basic Fractures (2 Days)

This 2 Day combination lecture and wet lab will cover the management of simple fractures of the forelimb – radius, ulna, and hind limb – tibia and femur. IM pinning, hemicerclage, full cerclage wires, tension bands and plating will be covered.

Orthopedic Ultrasound (MSK) (2 Days)

The course focuses on relevant ultrasound anatomy and standardized scanning protocols for common indications and procedures relevant in everyday clinical practice. Topics include soft tissue and bone anatomy and pathology as well as joints with main focuses on shoulder, knee and Achille’s tendon. Joint, tendon, muscle and nerve pathologies will be covered.

Congenital Heart Disease in the Dog and Cat (2.5 Days)

This 2.5 day course will explore common congenital heart defects in the dog and cat. Breed predispositions, clinical signs and exam findings, contrast studies are aspects that will be discussed. One scan lab included.

Intermediate Fracture Repair (2 Days)

This 2 Day combination lecture and wet lab will cover the management of hip dysplasia, fractures of the pelvis and ilium, traditional cruciates, SI luxation and stabilization of the medial patellar luxation. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with ethically obtained cadavers to properly understand patient preparation and draping, the approach to the bone, and tools and implants needed for these orthopedic procedures.

Intro to TPLO (Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy) (2 Days)

This 2 Day combination lecture and wet lab will cover the TPLO procedure and MPL stabilization combined with TPLO. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with bone models and ethically obtained cadavers to properly understand patient preparation and draping, the approach to the bone, and tools and implants needed for these orthopedic procedures. 

Common Orthopedic Conditions of the Hind Limb (2 Days)

This 2 Day combination lecture and wet lab will cover lateral stabilization – traditional style, lateral stabilization with ortho zip, and MPL and FHO. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with ethically obtained cadavers to properly understand patient preparation and draping, the approach to the bone, and tools and implants needed for these orthopedic procedures.

TTA (Tibial Tuberosity Advancement) (2 Days)

This 2 day course will involve lecture covering Cranial Cruciate Disease, TTA history, theory, required equipment and the step by step procedure. In the wet lab attendees will have the opportunity to practice the procedure on bone models and cadavers using required tools and implants.

Fracture Repair in Toy Breed Dogs & Cats (2 Days)

This 2 Day combination lecture and wet lab will cover the management of simple fractures in Toy Breeds and Cats of the forelimb- humerus, radius, ulna, and metacarpals. Attendees will have the opportunity to work with cadaver limbs to properly understand the approach to the bone.
